Dane Crozier - drums, percussion

Dane has been teaching privately, coaching percussion ensembles, and giving drums and percussion master classes for over eight years.  In addition to teaching at Terra Sounds, he currently serves as a percussion instructor at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, IL.  Before moving to Chicago, Dane was the percussion instructor for both the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts and the Sphinx Preparatory Music Institute in Detroit, MI in addition to coaching and guest-coaching percussion ensembles at the University of Michigan where he was studying.  Dane’s performance experience covers many western and non-western musical styles with a focus in the areas of solo and chamber music, orchestral percussion, and Afro-Cuban percussion.  

He has performed with many ensembles including the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, Warren Symphony, New Music Detroit, West African Dance of Madison (WADOMA), The Gold Coast All Stars, Jeffrey David Goldford, Cole DeGenova, Verzatile, and SonoEco.  In 2008, Dane co-founded Spectrum Trio with fellow percussionists John Doing and Mike Truesdell.  Spectrum has already released a self-titled debut album and has appeared for clinics and performances at many programs throughout the U.S. including the University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, Lawrence University, Ohio University, PASIC 2009, and Juilliard. Dane received his Master’s in Music Performance from the University of Michigan in 2010 and Bachelor’s in Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2007.
