Alisa Kolot - Piano
Alisa Kolot is a Chicago based pianist with a bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY under the tutelage of Ms.Rebecca Penneys and Enrico Elisi. She has previously participated in masterclasses lead by Julian Martin and Roberta Rust. She has been coaching advanced piano and teaching music theory in her pre-college studio, taught by Ms.Brenda Huang. Alisa has been playing clarinet for ten years and teaches beginner level students. Her experience with multiple pedagogues across different instruments has inspired her to teach her students creatively and intuitively, tailoring her teaching method to each student’s needs.
A pianist of many interests, Alisa Kolot pursues contemporary music, free-from improvisation, and jazz in her performance practice. She has pursued personal projects exploring the use of mathematics in twentieth century music theory. Away from the piano, Alisa Kolot pursues art and psychology.
