Casey McCanna is a professional musician in Chicago, spending his time teaching, performing, composing, recording, and producing. In addition to his 25 years of piano experience, he is also proficient at percussion, guitar, bass, saxophone, organ, ukulele, and banjo. With an extensive background in many fields of music, he is able to approach teaching from a perspective tailored to each individual student; he enjoys discussing the larger, universal truths of music as well as fundamentals specific to individual musical domains. Casey received his Bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, his Master’s degree from the University of Chicago, and is a Suzuki-certified piano instructor. Besides continually studying music, Casey also enjoys computer programming, chess, poetry, knitting, sports, art, and playing with his black lab Harley.
