Intro to Percussion/Drums for Kids

The class is designed to introduce students to the world of percussion and rhythm. We will explore many percussion instruments from all around the globe, learn to write basic rhythms, make instruments, and listen to all kinds of amazing music where percussion plays a key role. This will include multimedia, as well as hands-on demonstrations, group activities, and rhythm games!

Rhythm Basics - How to read, write, and play fundamental rhythms.
Creativity - Learn what makes a percussion instrument.
Instrument Making - Learn how to make percussion instruments out of household items.
Percussion Exploration - Show and tell of percussion instruments from around the world.
Note Writing - Learn to write basic rhythms.
Listening - Listen to music from around the globe.

Class Schedule and Pricing

Ages 6-10 / Beginner level
6:00-7:00 PM on Tuesdays, January 16-May 1. No class on March 27.

Tuition: $375 for 15 sessions
