John has written original underscores for film, dance, theater, musicals, television, and commercials. He has arranged, performed and directed for nationally touring tribute acts, variety shows, pit ensembles, sketch comedy troupes, big bands and much more. Since arriving to Chicago in 2004 John has had the opportunity to work with Kurt Elling, Lupe Fiasco, Rene Fleming, The Handsome Family, John Prine, Michelle Williams, Jessie Mueller, and many more. John began his teaching career in 2005 and since then has been teaching independently in the Chicago community, accumulating students from all over the world as well as players from the Chicago Blackhawks. John holds Bachelors of Arts in Jazz Studies, with concentration in guitar. He has studied with Frank Dawson at Columbia College of Chicago. He has been teaching in Chicago for 14 years.
