Marina Kovalevskaya was born in Moldova and fell in love with sculpture at an early age of 4. She pursued her dream of becoming a sculptor when she moved to St. Petersburg, going through all stages of art studies, from art school for children to college. She was accepted to the Stieglitz St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, where she earned a Master's Degree of Fine Arts in sculpture and drawing. Her works have been exhibited in St. Petersburg, Russia, the Chicago area, as well as in Wisconsin. Marina has also done interior and exterior sculpture restoration in the Russian Museum of Art building in St. Petersburg. Currently, she is the owner of the Art Kids Lab studio, and also teaches a sculpture class at the Alcott Center in Buffalo Grove, IL. Marina enjoys working with children and sharing her talent and experience to help them express themselves through art.
