An active pianist, teacher, and composer/arranger, Nathan Canfield has extensive experience as a performer and private music instructor. He has taught pianists of all ages and skill levels, and his passion is motivating students to explore their unique gifting to create beauty through the arts. In 2018, Nathan received a Master of Music degree at Northwestern University in Piano Performance under the guidance of James Giles.

A native of Indiana, Nathan won several state-wide competitions in his earlier years of piano study, including top collegiate awards from Indiana’s Hoosier Auditions and MTNA competition. More recently he has dedicated his attention to collaborative performance in addition to solo work, performing in dozens of duo and chamber recitals, competitions, and masterclasses annually. He is indebted to his teachers Beverley Simms and William Hughes, who stimulated his growth as a musician while studying at Indiana State University. Apart from music, Nathan enjoys cooking, studying theology, and playing sports.
